Busy Week Begins Tonight

Men's and Women's Volleyball home games kick off a very busy week for Redeemer Royal teams. The Volleyball teams take to the court tonight at 6pm and 8pm against the Niagara Knights and play one of two games this week. The Redeemer Basketball teams, Badminton team, and Indoor Soccer teams will all see action this week as well.

Rivalry Renewed

The Lady Royals women's volleyball team has completed the sweep of the Mohawk Mountaineers in the home and home season series by way of a 3-1 win last night at Redeemer. The mountain rivalry between the two teams seemed to be fading over the last couple of years as the Lady Royals struggled to compete with the Mountaineers. However, the competition seems to be heating up again and the Royals are now coming out on the winning side.

Royals Weekend Recap

It was all quiet in the Redeemer gym this weekend but that certainly didn't mean that the Royals were not in action. The Volleyball teams made their way up to North Bay in a series of back-to-backs against Canadore College and Nipissing University while the Basketball teams made their own trip up to Sault Ste. Marie to face Sault College and Algoma University. The Men's and Women's Indoor Soccer teams kicked off their season as well this past weekend with a trip to Centennial College for the first tournament of 2012.

Slow Start

It was not the start the Royals were looking for to open up the new year as Redeemer had 1 win and 3 losses in league sports this past weekend. The lone winner was the Men's Volleyball team who had little trouble against the Conestoga Condors in a 3-0 sweep.

Royals Head West

The Men's Volleyball team will head to San Diego, California over the Christmas Break. The trip, from December 28th to January 4th, will see the Royals competing against some of the top college and university teams in Canada and training out of the San Diego Volleyball Club facility.

Women's Basketball
Esther is putting together a great rookie season in 2011-2012. She currently leads the Royals in points per game with 8.8. For a team who is batteling injury, Esther has been active for every game this season playing in all 13 games. She also leads the team in defensive rebounds per game and rebounds per game.

Men's Volleyball
Aaron has been a force for the Royals in 2011-2012. Vanderlugt sits in 2nd on the Royals in points per game at 3.0. He sits miles ahead of anyone else on the team with a total of 38 blocks. He sits 7th in the OCAA in blocks and 6th in the OCAA in blocks per game. Aaron's biggest game in January came against the Fanshawe Falcons when he recorded 16 points in the 3-1 victory.
